Montreux is served by the Washoe County School District. There are 94 schools made up of sixty-five elementary schools, sixteen middle schools and seventeen high schools in the district along with several private and charter schools. The total enrollment for the district is over 63,000 students. Most of the schools in the district receive state and national awards annually. The Washoe County School District is one of the largest employers in Nevada, with over 7,200 employees and over 1,300 substitute teachers. |

The Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course is the jewel of Montreux. This masterpiece is over 7,500 yards and home to the PGA Tours Reno Tahoe Open. The Toiyabe National Forest is the biggest national forest in the United States and also adjacent to Montreux. The forest offers tons of recreational opportunities such as horseback riding, rock climbing, river rafting, fishing, biking, hiking and much more. Just a short twenty minute drive will land you in Lake Tahoe with wonderful beaches for swimming and sun bathing along with a collection of the finest ski resorts the country has to offer. |
